Meet Belent: A Gentle 7-Year-Old German Shepherd Ready for His Forever Home

Belent is a beautiful purebred German Shepherd who has endured a tough life. For seven years, he lived in an outdoor structure, confined to a chain. But several months ago, we finally managed to rescue him, and since arriving at our shelter, Belent has shown his true, sweet nature.

Despite his past, Belent is incredibly gentle and loves cuddling with his human carers. He enjoys observing other dogs, though he’s unsure how to join in when they play. This is simply because he never had the chance to learn how to play with other dogs. However, he still appreciates their company and loves going on walks with his furry friends.

Belent would be the perfect companion for someone with an active lifestyle who enjoys long walks and playing fetch. He will need patience when interacting with other dogs—not because he’s reactive, but because he’s still learning how to play.

Belent is blind in his right eye, but this doesn’t affect his quality of life or his ability to be a loving and loyal companion. He has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and tested negative for brucellosis, with a certificate from the animal health institute.

Currently, Belent is at our shelter in Sarajevo, Bosnia, and he is ready to travel as soon as his adopters pass a home inspection. He also has a rescue backup with us for life.

Thank you for considering this wonderful dog and helping him find the forever home he’s been waiting for. 🐾❤️

Adopting from our shelter is probably easier than you think. Before adoption, all dogs are vaccinated, microchipped, treated for worms and fleas, and have their own passports. To help defer those costs, we ask for a donation fee of 500 Euros (approx £430) which includes adoption fee and transportation costs. As the transport costs do vary, we can help with fundraising for these costs if necessary.
